After working with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.macromedia.com\/software\/spectra\/\">Spectra<\/a>, which used a pseudo XML called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.openwddx.org\/\">WDDX<\/a> to store data, I&#8217;ve created a couple different methods (CF\/ASP\/JSP) of managing data in web applications, but none of them have been automatic, meaning you couldn&#8217;t just send fire method x on object A and persist the data to the db.  Data Binding or data persistence does do that&#8230; I just haven&#8217;t been able to use it in a site yet&#8230; so, here&#8217;s a link to an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xml.com\/pub\/a\/2002\/07\/24\/databinding.html\">article<\/a> on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xml.com\/index.csp\">xml.com<\/a> about data binding and XML which compares <a href=\"http:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/net\/\">.NET<\/a> to <a href=\"http:\/\/java.sun.com\">Java&#8217;s<\/a> open source <a href=\"http:\/\/castor.exolab.org\/\">castor<\/a> framework.  Really interesting.
